Conax Technologies now offers a split seal fitting with pressure ratings that are higher than typical ratings achieved with standard multi-hole split compression seal fittings. The new Conax SPGA is our first multi hole split seal fitting that carries both hydraulic and pneumatic catalog pressure ratings. So there’s no need to consult the factory when your application falls within the catalog ratings. Because the amount of pressure transmitted from the cap to the load-bearing washer, follower, sealant, and seat set is higher, the SPGA creates higher sealing pressures that result in a tighter seal on the fitting body and elements. Viton, Lava and Grafoil sealants are available.</p>
<p><strong>Conax split seals for multiple probe sealing</strong><br />
Conax Technologies offers various models of split seals designed to be used when the diameter of the probe tip is larger than the diameter of the elements at the location of the seal. Split fittings feature split sealants, followers, and seats, so the sealants can be easily changed without removing the elements from the system. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Conax Technologies <strong>wirewound platinum RTD assemblies </strong>feature a wirewound element encased in either a stainless steel or Inconel 600 sheath. The RTD&#8217;s nickel leadwires are supported and insulated throughout the sheath with densely compacted high-purity magnesium oxide. This allows the sensor to be bent like a thermocouple except in the tip portion that contains the element.</p>
<p><strong>Thin film platinum element assemblies (M-style) </strong>use a powder-filled tubewell construction with bare leadwire strung through pre-formed MgO insulators and attached directly to the element. This assembly is inserted into a closed-end tubewell, which is then filled with Al2O3 powder and capped with potting compound.</p>
<p><strong>Copper and nickel element assemblies (E-style) </strong>feature a similar tubewell construction, with PTFE(r)-insulated lead wires brazed to the element. The tubewell is then filled with Al2O3 powder and capped with potting compound. In both cases, the minimum active length is 3&#8243; and the assemblies should not be bent.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Conax Buffalo High Temperature Thermocouples are specifically designed for durability and reliability in high temperature applications to 4200° F (2315° C). Such applications generally involve oxidizing, reducing, inert gas or contamination atmospheres that challenge the life of the thermocouple. Conax brings more than 50 years of experience in the design and manufacture of temperature sensing devices to the selection of appropriate materials and designs to maximize the life and reliability of thermocouples in these environments. Conax custom designs thermocouples with special characteristics of materials used in the elements, sheaths and insulations, as well as integrating with standard configurations. <ul>
<li><strong>Terminal Head Assembly</strong> – <strong>Assemblies with Head &amp; Direct Mount
<p></strong>Conax Buffalo provides high temperature assemblies with T5, T8, T11 and T12 termination heads in aluminum, stainless steel or cast iron to meet application needs. T5 termination heads meet NEMA 4 requirements providing protection against windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water and external ice formation. (See page 11 for details on termination heads.) The sheath is affixed to the terminal head using a Conax Buffalo packing gland Type PG4 with lava sealant. Terminal heads with terminal blocks and gasket seal are rated to 275° F (135° C).</li>
<li><strong>Plug &amp; Jack Assembly </strong>&#8211; <strong>(PJFC-Plug) Termination &amp; Support Tube
<p></strong>An adjustable support tube offers flexibility for immersion adjustment while protecting the sheath from potential damage during installation. The rigid, thick wall offers additional support when penetrating the vessel/furnace wall. Standard polarized plug and jack termination for use with all calibration types. Plug and jack assemblies are made from molded glass filled thermoset compounds and are designed to operate in temperatures to 300° F (150° C). Polarity identification marks are molded in the bodies for installation assistance.</li>
<li><strong>T3/T4 Assembly </strong>&#8211; <strong>Leadwire Termination and Support Tube
<p></strong>This exclusive Conax Buffalo design provides a practically unbreakable connection between the leadwire and probe lead. The T3 epoxy-filled transition is supplied with Teflon-insulated extension wire as standard; silicone-impregnated fiberglass insulation is also available. Standard extension end leads are 24″ long (longer leads available on request). When the progressive description specifies 24 gauge probe wire, 20 gauge extension wire is standard. When the progressive description specifies 30 gauge probe wire, 24 gauge extension wire is standard. T4 termination provides a stainless steel overbraid for maximum flexibility and abrasion resistance. Available in all sheath materials and wire types. Both termination types function to 300° F (150° C) continuous temperature.</li>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Conax Technologies has adapted our proven soft sealant capability to include the ability to compress a soft sealant material around the outside diameter of a fiber optic cable. The fiber optic cable is encased within a rugged stainless steel sheath that protects the cable from damage during the sealing process. This sheath is then placed through a seal fitting (also known as a sealing gland). This process allows the fiber optic cable to be sealed without the use of epoxies and with minimal out-gassing.<br />
The fiber optic feedthrough sub-assembly can be used with various Conax Technologies seal fittings, including multiple hole fittings and can be adapted for special applications.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Conax Buffalo offers three models of split glands designed to facilitate assembly and sealant replacement when the diameter of the probe tip is larger than the diameter of the element(s) at the location of the seal. Split glands provide split sealants, followers and seats to facilitate easy sealant change without removing the element(s) from the system.</p>

<li>Sealants Are Replaceable Without Requiring Removal Of The Probe From The System</li>
<li>Field Adjustable</li>
<li>Temperature Range From -400°F to +1600°F (-185°C to +870°C)</li>
<li>Pressure: Vacuum to 10,000 PSI (690 bar)</li>
<li>Use wherever the total diameter of the probe tip(s) being sealed exceeds the diameter of the sealing orifices (i.e. cable assemblies with factory assembled connectors).</li>
