space VPC’s patented Twin Access Contact (TAC™) is designed to mate directly with Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) on both sides of the contact. The TAC features double-ended wiping action that will not damage the contact pads on the PCB. This translates to either eliminating or reducing costs associated with wiring your test system. One of the most versatile and reliable contacts available, TAC technology is available in Signal, Coaxial and Power configurations. Maximum contact force of each Signal TAC is 2 ounces, enabling the user to fully load the modules, yet easily engage and disengage the interface. Designed for systems on 0.100″ centers, TAC is used in conjunction with VPC’s high I/O, small footprint 50 Series Interface Systems. TAC termination can be accomplished by several methods – printed circuit board, wire wrap, crimp, solder and mass termination.Click InterconnectThe high density, low profile CLICK replaces conventional, more cumbersome connectors and overcomes the hassles of multiple cable connections. Virginia Panel Corporation introduces it’s new CLICK™ connector! The easiest, quickest means of connection, CLICK engagement is accomplished by simply positioning, rotating and clicking the connector in place. CLICK combines VPC’s advanced wireless technology with improved engagement performance. With a maximum of 380 signal contacts, the high density, low profile CLICK replaces conventional, more cumbersome connectors and overcomes the hassles of multiple cable connections.

CLICK achieves its high density by using VPC’s patented Twin Access Contact (TAC). The versatile TAC provides Printed Circuit Board (PCB) to PCB connection or, through the use of surface contacts, accommodates conventional Discrete Wired Termination (DWT). CLICK’s unique design allows both wiring methods (PCB and DWT) to be intermixed. TAC is available in Signal, Power and/or Coaxial configurations.
  • Two piece ID/Housing slides apart for easy assembly, inspection, and maintenance.
  • The two piece ID/Housing provides access for debugging while the ID cover is removed.
  • Cover can be removed while ID is engaged to receiver.

Vertical Hinged Mounting Frame:

Vertical Hinged Mounting Frames bolt directly onto any 19″ rack and allow the CLICK Receivers to hinge down toward the operator for access to wiring or VXI cards. An integrated hinge supports the receiver when the hinge system is in the open position. The mounting frames accommodate either the CLICK Receiver(s). A blank mounting frame is available for user specific configurations (cut-outs made by the customer).

PXI Interface Solutions:

Virginia Panel has developed an interface connection system to accommodate the PXI specification. To save time and reduce wiring costs, Virginia Panel offers either the CLICK Interface Systems coupled with TAC/PCB Interface. The interface can be mounted to the PXI chassis using a hinged mounting adapter.

CLICK Interface Solution

For systems requiring lower pin counts and system modularity, Virginia Panel offers the CLICK solution. The CLICK Interface accommodates one module position that can be configured using signal, power or coaxial TACs, with a maximum population of 192 signal pins. The double ended TACs mate directly to pads on one side of the TAC/PCB Interface; the other side is loaded with DIN connectors allowing direct cable connection to the PXI cards. (The TAC/PCB Interface accommodates connectors on 0.100″ centers to easily configure the Interface). The Hinged Mounting Adapter has cutouts for up to four CLICK Interfaces and includes three cover plates for unused slots.

The CLICK Interface accommodates 1 module, that can be configured with any combination of the modules listed on the following pages. The Receiver and ID Wiring Modules fit in both the CLICK Interfaces. TAC contacts are easily inserted and removed by hand from the specially designed Receiver TAC Modules. A Receiver Wiring Module loaded with wiring contacts is needed when discrete wiring TACs and mounts to the back of the TAC Module.

Signal Modules

The 380 pin Signal Modules are made from an engineered resin to exceed MIL-T-28800 Class 3 operational temperature requirements, with operating temperatures ranging from -50°C to 85°C. Signal TAC Modules include a removable contact retaining plate and all modules include mounting hardware. Module faces are screened with a white checkerboard pattern and white nomenclature. Contacts are sold separately.

Modules are black and screened with a white checkerboard pattern. Nomenclature is screened white on the module faces. Receiver TAC Modules include a removable contact retaining plate and all modules include mounting hardware. Contacts are sold separately. The 46 Position Coaxial Modules accommodate Power and 50 OHM Coaxial contacts. Wiring contacts that mate to the 50 OHM Coaxial TAC are terminated either with Solder Sleeve contacts or standard SMBs or SSMBs.

Virginia Panel offers 170 Pin Module blocks compatible with GenRad 2270/71 type interfaces (also the TTI VG Series Interface). These blocks accommodate our TAC contact to allow multiple connection options with reliable electrical performance. TACs can mate directly to a Printed Wiring Board or through the use of Wiring Contacts make discrete wired terminations.

FCLICK Receiver

The CLICK Receiver Frame is made of aluminum and clear chromated. The frame holds one TAC Receiver module containing TAC contacts and, depending on the wiring requirements, either a PCB Interface or Receiver Wiring Module can be attached to the back of the Receiver Frame. EMI gasketing on the Receiver frame prevents electrical interference, as well as protects the system from environmental containments. A protective Cover, made of Rubber, is available to protect the contacts when the Receiver is not in use. There are 3 Exclusive Keying positions on the Receiver and ID to ensure wired IDs are mated to the matching wired Receiver.

CLICK Interface Devices

The CLICK Interface Device (ID) is a two-piece frame and housing, made of clear chromated aluminum and glass reinforced nylon. With one module position, the ID can hold up to 380 Signal connections or use one of our Signal/Coaxial (or Power) combination modules. The CLICK ID is secured to the CLICK Receiver Frame with an integrated locking latch located on the ID. The latch includes a safety lock to ensure continuous connection when the interface is engaged. The two-piece ID design allows for easier assembly, inspection, and maintenance of the wired assembly. An ID Protective Cover, made of rubber, is available to protect the contacts when the ID is not in use. 410112599 CLICK Interface Device (ID) Accessory threaded Coupling Adapter, for use with Conduit Harnessing Assemblies and Cable Clamps. This Adapter has a 1.625-18 UNEF male thread and is used in place of the standard Cable Clamp that is supplied with the CLICK ID.

Signal TAC/PCB Interface

The Signal TAC/PCB Interface offers mass termination for quick connection of signal contacts. The double ended TAC contact, used in the CLICK Interface, mates directly to pads on one side of the TAC/PCB Interface. The other side of the interface board is loaded with DIN connectors, or any connector on 0.100″ centers. Please consult factory for additional configurations.

Hybrid TAC/PCB Interface

The Hybrid TAC/PCB Interface offers mass termination for quick connections of signal, coaxial and power contacts. The doubled ended TAC contact, used in the CLICK Interface, mates directly to pads on one side of the TAC/PCB Interface. The other side of the interface board is loaded with DIN Connectors, or any connector on 0.100″ centers. Coaxial and Power wiring contacts are available.
